I made a B in Math once...

Today's Topics Trigger ? Well, let us say one amber beer on draft!

Nuero-networks...
"in this last class I took for my degree in computer sciences, (his 2nd masters) the professor explained the number"
OMG I know what the number line is! Pick me pick me pick me!"

The professor explained it so deep that wow I couldn’t begin to repeat it to you"I tell him its ok , just try, I made a B in math once. He smiles…

I bet he doesn’t believe me but I really did, and you know what while I can truly admire his brain and the way he can retain facts, theories, applications.I know that he isnt normal at all! As a matter of fact knowledge at this level is a a waste of brain matter.

"ummm have you ever used any of what that professor explained?"
He replies, "No, but a guy from work got hired to do a job in what this class was about."

I ask, "He got a job explaining number lines?"

My mind is screaming with sarcasm, and smart ass answers.I don’t want to offend him because I truly love this genius. But man if I had your smarts, well, I probably wouldn’t be me, but I would do something so different.

I made B in math once in 10th grade (one of the most difficult years of high school for me personally) It was in Algebra I, Mrs. Lucky taught it and she was an excellent teacher. It has done me little good in life except when we prepare to take a trip I can figure the speed and hours to complete it.

But he seems so excited to share this moment of his adult life with me tonight.
I smile because in some tiny way as he studied (a real joy for him) I cared for the family very efficiently with no nagging because he wasn’t a part of our lives when he studied.

Some how these very different people have hung together for over 31 years…and now rest in the love of knowing what we have done together.
He made a B in math once.He was in the 6th grade, and I wonder what could have possibly distracted him in the 6th grade to cause him to only make a B..?  Something in common, we both made a B in Math once~

life~spring

Nothing like a beautiful day in the south to draw out all the laptoppers from their winter nesting.  Quick drive toward the mountains, swap shoes for boots, water bottle for camelpack ~ waaalaaa~ life feels renewed and purpose filled.  One step at a time, watching foot placement and trying not to miss a minute of real earthly beauty.

It was a pretty slow, quiet hike.  Passing many smiles and words of encouragement as those who were headed down confirmed great beauty from the top.  Usually we discuss so many things that are topics of tenderness to us but this time he seemed a bit focused on his footing- keeping the speed of an 80 yo I teased him.  But he has patiently walked with me when I weighed 35 pounds more and carried a 25 pound back pack.  As my feet would speed up and my heart would feel big and strong I would realize I couldnt see him behind me.

He spoke often of his trip out alone over a year ago.  Made me melancholy to think that one nite out meant so much to him over the many trips we had been out.  He reflects so much of his life without me.  I refused to let that thought carry on too long...I want my life to mean something to someone other than me.

This hiking thing was all my longing to run away so many years ago.  To just put on a pack and hit the trail with only the things I would need and show myself and the world I'm ALIVE~He had even commented, "You will never get me to put on a 30 pound backpack and walk up a mountain".
ummmm scuuuuze me? ~;o)
