Friday 55
He had loved her
Youthful humor, smile enchanting,
Full, firm breasts, energy.
Their years together had come so quickly;
Children born, raised and moved on their own.
Acute sorrow and loneliness prevailed.
His memory was failing and in all of her love,
And desire couldn’t bring him back…
She was a ghost unrecognized every day
Friday fun and ghoulish tales hosted by none other than g-man, mr know it all, the kickass host!

HaPpY cAkE dAy!
"Happy Cake Day!!" ~ my 18 yo daughter and i have fallen in love with cake boss since we have Netflix now! and started a "tradition" of sorts. After we finish a season she skips school and we go buy a cake!
Well, Sunday we finished season 2~ so she had a choice of days to call "cake day" this week. I told her good night last night and asked her if she wanted to go to school Monday. She wasn't sure so she said, "I will send you a text just check your phone when you get coffee in the morning"
I made it to the great and wonderful coffee pot this morn and checked my phone...

So today we will purchase a cake! She will rid herself of her sinus headache and be ready for a 4 day week! ohh yeaaa!
Thankfully our kids have all been on the
smarter-than-the-average-bear side of brains. She holds an A average in all but history and is like her einstein dad in math so I have no prob in her mental health days...not to mention that when she finally wakes up I wont be lonely!!! HOOORAY

weekend ending so soon
I wake every Sunday and first thought is,
"damn the weekend is over".... head toward the coffee pot, noticing the creaks and pops are in MY joints NOT the wood floor! "DAMN them too"
Even when I was an active, mesmerized, devout Catholic, I hated Sundays. There is just nothing good about them. Dinners with the kids and friends are always shadowed by Monday being hours away. The ONLY good Sunday is the first Sunday of a week at the beach!
My mind goes to things that will be different this week, even though they rarely change as greatly as hoped!
This week:
* get a meal plan, --> grocery plan, that will be simple, nutritious, and delicious
* gym, go to the gym! stop excusing yourself, you are older, wider, and it lifts spirits.
* look for a part time job
* treasure (junk) hunt, oh wait, we don't have ANY extra money, look for a part time job!
* finish a project you already started and prepared for! like the sunroom! or finish painting the small mirror and candle
ok that plan is done!
It is my fav time to let my einstein sleep in and spend honestly HOURS reading blogs. The creativity of so many folks just consumes me. How did they do that, why didnt I think of that. The more I read the greater my desire to write or to refurbish or even to set a table! So much to learn and damn wish I had started sooner in life! (I know I know it's never too late)
Yesterday I happened on a blog friend again, Between Naps on the Porch. A really nice place to visit! I started there this morning (after checking facebook of course) she had an entry about a mocking bird that was waking her and actually recorded the little midnight siren~ as I listened to it on my lap top the fur friend was becoming very excited!

I don't think she liked the "judy judy judy" sound chirp! LOL and she has this KILL look in her eyes
And completely missed the shot of her ON my laptop!
funny of the morn!
If i started a "weekly" it would be called something like, "sunday smile"
(I had to edit out the messy coffee table/floor! amazing how much worse that stuff looks in public pictures!)
Two solid hours of coffee and blog~land do I have to really get up and get something done now?

friday well spent
So today it was time to mow one more time...pull up more ivy and rake out around the fence. Watered the poor summer plants that just remain strong and bright, cant say the same for our poor yard!
Oh einstein came home and had the "blue screen of death" we had on our computer on his mind...so wasnt too impressed with my day. I mean perhaps if I had met him at the door naked and wrapped in seran wrap instead of dirty clothes, bug bites, and smelly armpits...but I think I would have better luck dressed as a computer screen!

friday flash 55
Friday 55...brought to us by Mr. G
She had heard of him, yet, felt untouched by him.
The dreadful thief and murderer of children.
His steps so light, his breath unnoticed, he stole what would not be missed for years.
He did take from her, oh, so gently that she was unaware of his incredible strength.
Time, he never leaves anyone untouched

Alaska Backwoods Lawyer: Krugman on the Mortgage Morass- Will Courts Hold Banks Accountable?
Alaska Backwoods Lawyer: Krugman on the Mortgage Morass- Will Courts Hold Banks Accountable?
Well I do hope Paul and Judy will have more frequent postings! What a great place to be!
overwhelmed by junk geniuses
OMG! This must be what insanity feels like! Since being "let go" from
Work in January 2010 I have spent a lot of time in the crafter's, and home improvement blogs and spheres. Any thing is possible out there~ no matter your level of creative genius!
I BELIEVE OH I BELIEVE!!
They are all truly inspiring and start with nothing except an idea that they need a piece of furniture or home décor. Of course they are all pinching penny's so they acquire used and or random ingredients they find at yard sales or flea markets.
So….I believe (d) ~still slightly undecided about my own ability! Awesome ideas have stirred action here in my own house!
Projects:
This picture looks "finished" and it has taken me alot to get to this point! Many, Many hours up on a ladder stripping wallpaper, washing, and priming but I do love my new breakfast nook! We found the chairs at a Home Depot Outlet for $25 dollars each! The outlet has since closed! damn
Paint the kitchen cabinets! Done (well except for the second coat on the base boards, the under neath of the upper cabinets, the doors don’t shut right so they will have to be dremeled, and the upper part of the 5 windows, and the pantry)
************************************
Of course you cannot tell it unless you look really hard, but the front door white trim is primer! and the last shudder is different than the rest! but the holly bushes that they had planted under every single window are gone! I actually like to pull in the drive way now and call this place my home!
Paint the outside trim of our house: Ok so we hired an absolute angel to paint everything we couldn’t reach, and repair a couple of "squirrel holes". He did a FANTASTIC JOB!! Even brought us some slightly used shutters to paint and use instead of the horrible broken ones we bought with the house. Still need to paint one more garage door, 9 feet of gutter over back door, and the entire front door only has primer on it!
*******************************************************
Landscape: I have done an encredible job on the yard! Took down bushes that had hidden our house for over 7 years, trimmed trees and even took on the poison ivy in the side and back yard! Still needs mulch (the bags are laid right where we want them we just havent raked and cut down the back bushes)
We actually got this area all cleaned up! and almost entirely usable! I will get an updated picture, but we hung little white lights out there, and bought 4 plastic Adirondack chairs from walmart. We sat outside more this summer than we have the entire 7 years we have lived here!A stack of shutters that I want to use to paint and put in the yard as "blinders" between our house and the 2 behind us
Oh and back inside again:
The sun room (also known as the cats room) had about 8 shades of chocolate brown tested on the walls (the color the young adult girls of the house wanted~ NOT ME) So I did get primer on it but that is as far as it has gotten.
Several, about 20, various pictures and frames that need to be put together.
Guest powder room has vanity and door and window painted with primer, with a couple of goodwill treasures hanging and laying in it.
Wetbar/bill pay center is HUGE eye soar.
2 out of 5 of our bedrooms are "storage centers".
I think that is it. So every morning I wake up and look around me and think, "wonder if I can make a high score on bejeweled" and do nothing. Often at night I will wander thru the halls of etsy's "handmade" items, or venture out at the "junk" queens' . I have found a very elite group of ladies that truly can take the absolute NOTHINGS and turn them into such beautiful unique pieces. They are wearing me out!

Today, today I must focus just a bit…but perhaps before I do I will just see if my niece has beat my bejeweled score on facebook!!

Friday 55
Our family trip...2nd night
Oh sure the locals had posted warnings but we
knew that was to keep us from seeing the real
Alaska.
Our hair stood up on seeing the bear on all
fours but the moment he stood up, we knew what it
meant to be so scared you wet your pants!

Morning laughs rock...
This morning I woke to coffee and blogland. The first thing I do is look for recent posts and found this very funny video of a brown hair mermaid barbie what a great way to start my day! Then I have to see if the "crazy dad" has put up new snipits of his life with the most adorable kids.
Humor is wonderful and it has a way of making so much of life bearable! My husband reads me the morning headlines, which are very important as well, but lordie mercy such drama while you drink your coffee! no thanks...some how my personality is more on the stand-up, sarcastic humorous Buddha! Some where between zen and cornie jokes.
Last night it was me and my einstein all alone. no kids, no guests, just us. Too tired to out do our nights of youth we opted for a sit in the garden tub! The mind's picture of our sweet 50+ old bodies is ample humor but sweet too! As I have said before we have known each other since we were 13! Living two houses apart we have seen the best and worst of each other over our lifetimes.
The conversation started with some kinda sexual reference of course! And when I truly challenged him we had to laugh that how is it possible that we have come so far together. Starting with his "proposal" while we were making out at a drive in, he asked,
"Would you go to Idaho with me?" I said sure, I would do that!
Later the next day I was telling my sister about his question. She said, "So are you getting married?" I realized he hadn't said "marry me" he said "go with me". I really didn't know what he meant till he gave me an engagement ring some days later while we watched reruns of Gilligan's Island
So Divine Intervention OR Humorous BUDDHA told me to take his invite on great faith and we never looked too far out into the future and planned for anything! LOL we just cruzed.

I like being here, but where am I?
I like being here, curled up on the couch (that I hate) with my laptop. My blog is like a friend to me. As I strolled thru the list of recently written blogs it is apparent that I chose several during and after the election! ~;0) and another large selection of natural, alternative self care ones. Recently have added a lot of creative, artsy re-purposers! LOL and damn if that Pioneer Woman does always just make me laugh~ can she really be just one woman? Or is there a team behind that blog? It isnt fair how some got every type of creativity and intelligent skills. I bet she makes money with hers! How I would love to be able to do that!
After I walked out of the dental lab this past January I knew it was time to just go be me. It seems though that quickly as I come into focus for myself I seems I drop the lenses. That is ok I guess, I mean what if it turned out that I don’t really like me!
This is what I would like to see in a day and on a blog tab.
Words of wisdom that make me smile (draw out humor of the day)
Pieces of re-purposed life (my latest amazing creation ~ furniture, room decor, yard)
Sculpting Self (at the gym and holistically speaking)
Simple kitchen survival (really dont like this place but society, family expectations)
Admiring Notes of real people in my life (appreciating those around me)
And of course they would all be etched in a photography! So many options to draw your interest into the trees...how will I know which to use? someone, anyone could make a better combination.
Note to self: It is hard to find the confidence of selection when you are just new in an area! another confusing element of life...perhaps there is NOT a right and wrong choice. Just like I am not really lost I just dont know where I am going!
How do you put tabs on your blog anyway? Why do I think I want to be the best at anything? Why cant I just do things I like to do?

one place I visited
Some days I cant find any words in my head, absolutely none! And I avoid this place with anything. Just about one year ago I started having really bad panic attacks. The insecurity, the fear, well it was amazing to me how quickly they paralyzed any confidence in self. My goal was to work through them and keep them from shrinking my world. So with a very patient husband I would battle daily, and sometimes hourly to work through them. There were mornings that I would almost purposely trigger one just because the mind amazes me and the ridiculous fear was heart stopping. Why was my mind being so stupid and why was I letting it!
One morning my husband had to leave town for work for an entire week. I was so freaked that I went and bought him a cell phone. He may be the last human on the planet with out a cell! The morning he left, I KNEW without any doubt that I had to do something to keep my mind SO busy. The answer was, kitchen make over!! And I couldnt tell him what I was doing because he is a perfectionist and rarely has positive opinions about anything! This would be a project that would have to be done in 4 days!
Well the "breakfast nook" got completely stripped and painted in four days. I stood on the tallest ladder in the world to reach up to the ceiling. Most days I was up there for at least 8-10 hours.
But it worked! I only had one really bad event and it was because I couldnt get in touch with Mr. Personality!
Slowly I made it thru that winter and moved on into spring. With the warm weather and the sun, my strength returned. And I continued to stay busy.
This past weekend we celebrated a birthday for our daughter. She turned 21 and I finished the freaking kitchen!
