He had loved her
Youthful humor, smile enchanting,
Full, firm breasts, energy.
Their years together had come so quickly;
Children born, raised and moved on their own.
Acute sorrow and loneliness prevailed.
His memory was failing and in all of her love,
And desire couldn’t bring him back…
She was a ghost unrecognized every day
Friday fun and ghoulish tales hosted by none other than g-man, mr know it all, the kickass host!

this is rather chilling...in that some couples seem to walk around each other as if they are ghosts...nice 55.
ReplyDeleteA sad, sorrowful 55.
ReplyDelete(Except for the "Full, firm breasts" part)
eric! lol!
ReplyDeletebrian, most couples (this couple) certainly experience the ghost at least for a few days...before this ghost draws blood! lol and says HEY PAY ME SOME ATTENTION!!
i see others reading this as just growing callous to each other but i see an alzheimer's victim...either way it's sad but a well executed 55.
ReplyDeleteYes, I also see the sorrow of dementia in this loving couple, when every minute of every day, everything is new all over again. In 55 words you tell their whole history with love.
ReplyDeleteWorse yet the moments when he thinks she is her own mother.
ReplyDeleteThis is a sad but very real situation you write about in your 55. I see exactly this when I visit my MIL's place in a "Life Enrichment Unit." There is one woman who comes to see her husband, and it's clear that he thinks she's his mother, just as Alice said..
ReplyDeleteSadly beautiful...
ReplyDeleteYou nailed this one good,..
Most excellent 55 My Friend.
You Rock The Planet...
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
Very sad and so real. Great 55.
ReplyDeleteIt seems this ghostly phenomena of abundant love happens to many in more ways then we can to entertain, may you not be one of them and your love and mind survive. nice 55er , and love your banner, nicely decorated with white pumpkins and gourds.
ReplyDeletecheers,
joanny
